A community-led, centrally organized coalition must
be able to communicate regularly if Haiti is to be 
rebuilt and reforested.

Thousands of workers across Haiti are prepared to grow a coalition that links and supports the reforstation projects underway and those being planned for the future. Severe weather, however, routinely disrupts the national communication networks. The January 2010 earthqauke demolished the already weakened communication system.

KONBIT POU AYITI/KONPAY (Working Together for Haiti) is the Haitian National Coalition for the Environment, whose mission is to solve social, environmental, and economic problems by building networks and collaborations to share technology and expertise. It also serves to create relationships between individuals and organizations in the U.S. and Haiti.

Essential communication tools are needed to connect the massive relief and reforestation efforts. Reforestation is a crucial task in helping Haitians recover their food supply and make socioeconomic progress.
